Here's some questions we commonly get asked about plasti dip.

What is Plasti dip?

Plasti Dip is a multi-purpose, air dry, specialty rubber coating. It can be easily applied by dipping, brushing, or spraying. Plasti Dip protective coating is ideal for a broad array of do-it-yourself projects around the home, garage, garden, and elsewhere. It protects coated items against moisture, acids, abrasion, corrosion, and skidding/slipping, and provides a comfortable, controlled grip. Plasti Dip remains flexible and stretchy over time, and will not crack or become brittle in extreme weather conditions. It has been tested and proven in temperatures from -30°F to 200°F.

What can I use Plasti Dip for?

Plasti dip can be used in its traditional sense to provide great grip and electrical shock protection on all your favourite tools.  It is popular amongst car enthusiasts and can be used on wheels or the entire vehicle.  Combined with Plasti dips enhancer sprays, you can create custom looks on a huge variety of products.

What can I apply plasti dip to?

Plasti dip's stretchy rubber coating remains flexible when applied to wood, glass, rope, dried floral arrangement, clay, or stone, concrete, ceramic, brick, or anything that paint is applied to.  It can be used on pretty much anything you can paint.  Its limits are your imagination.

How many cans of Plasti dip spray will I need to spray my wheels?

It depends on the thickness you want and  how many coats you use but generally speaking you are best to use 1 can per wheel, with larger wheels taking 1 1/2 cans.

How much plasti dip do you need to spray a whole car?

Plasti dip is available in 3.78l tins.  To be on the safe side you may need two tins.  These tins can either come ready to spray (you need a sprayer )  or you can purchase a similar size tin of thinner and mix yourself.
